Obituary for Karen M. Bruschi
Karen M. Bruschi, 52, of Ludlow, died unexpectedly at home on February 19, 2014. Born in Ludlow, she was a lifelong resident and graduate of Ludlow High School. Karen worked for many years as a secretary for Bruschi Brothers Construction Co. and Brag Electric. Upon her retirement, she became a nanny to her niece and nephew Camille and Ryan, and caretaker of 14 years to her father Americo. She was a faithful and devoted communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Ludlow and most recently of St. Cecilia’s Parish in Wilbraham, where she was also a member of the Woman’s Club and served as a usher. Karen loved playing bingo at the Polish Club on Wednesday nights, watching vintage television shows, and traveling, especially to Florida during the winter; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her loving family. Karen was the beloved daughter of Americo “Mac” and the late Helen (Trumpikas) Bruschi; a loving sister to Sandra Bruschi and companion Fred Eaton, of Ludlow, and Helene Mawdsley and husband Russell, of Holyoke; a cherished and adoring aunt to Brian and Todd Moylan, and Andrew, David, and Sabrina Gallo; a beloved and devoted great auntie to Breanna and Kaylee Moylan, Camille and Ryan Moylan, Avery, Tessa, and Nicole Helene Gallo, and Jack and Varela Gallo; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Friends and family are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, February 28th at 11:00am in St. Cecilia’s Parish followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. There are no visiting hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made in Karen’s memory to St. Cecilia’s Capital Improvement Fund 42 Main St. Wilbraham, Ma. 01095.
