Obituary for Kathleen M. (Garvey) Jordan
Kathleen M. (Garvey) Jordan, 98, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on August 13th surrounded by her loving family. Daughter of the late John and Mary (Cavanaugh) Garvey, she was born in Springfield on November 21st, 1923. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School, a longtime resident of Ludlow, and a communicant of Christ the King Parish. Kathleen loved playing bingo and taking trips to the casino, but her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Sadly, she was predeceased by her beloved husband Donald Jordan in 1983 and her daughter Marianne Hurst (widower Dave) in 2019. Kathleen was a devoted mother to Kathy DiSanti and late husband Frank Jr., Robert Jordan, Debbie Herchel and husband Jim, Dan Jordan and wife Eileen, all of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to Mike DiSanti (Brenda), Matt DiSanti (Marie), Chris DiSanti (April), Jeff Hurst (Denise), Brian Hurst (Cynthia), Shannon Berte (Jim), Alison Gray (Dustin), James Herchel (Melanie), and Katie, Kelsey, Matt, and Mary Jordan, along with several great and great-great grandchildren. She also leaves her loving niece Nancy Gilmore (Gerry) and sister-in-law Alberta Jordan (late husband Arden) who were always there for her in special ways, many other nieces and nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. In addition, she was predeceased by her siblings John, Mary, Patrick, Eileen, Peggy, and Thomas and her great grandchild Joshua Hurst. Funeral services for Kathleen will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2022. Visiting hours are from 9:00-10:15am with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Christ the King Parish followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
