Obituary for L. Joanne Miner
L. Joanne Miner, 77, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully July 26, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in the British West Indies to the late Lillian Muriel Lawson and Lyle O. Lawson, who was supervisor of an oil company and refinery that operated worldwide. Joanne was a long time Ludlow resident where she was a faithful communicate of St. Elizabeth Parish, and worked for 22 years for Dr. Peter J. Krokidius in Chicopee. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, swimming, flying and motorcycle riding with her father, and was a bowling enthusiast; but her greatest joy in life was spending time with and taking care of her children, her family, and her friends. Joanne was the beloved wife of 57 years to William L. Miner; a loving mother to Christopher Allen Miner and wife Helene, Michael Miner, all of Ludlow, Heather Bartholomew, of Boston, and the late Stephen John Miner and his widow Debra, of Chicopee; a devoted grandmother to Elizabeth Miner and the late Stephen Miner Jr.; a dear sister to the late John Lawson and his widow and children in Texas; and also leaves her uncle and aunt John and Beth Lawson, of Canada; cousins Carol and Matt Herasymiuk in Western Canada; many loving extended family members; and dear friends. Funeral services for Joanne will be held on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are from 8:30 to 10:15 am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11;00am in St. Elizabeth Parish. Burial will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joanne's memory to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
