Obituary for Lena (Arnone) Santos
Lena (Arnone) Santos, 81 of Ludlow, died at Baystate Medical Center on Tuesday Sept. 22, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Enfield Ct. the daughter of the late Jack and Sadie Arnone, she worked at Cromwell Mills and later retired from Dielectrics in 1986. Lena lived in Ludlow for over 57 years and was a member of the Ludlow Golden Agers and Ludlow Senior Center, where she loved to go and play bingo. She loved putting on a big holiday spread at Christmas for her family, and loved shopping and Elvis. She was predeceased by her husband Abel in 2007, and a brother Carlo. Lena is survived by her 4 sons, Carlo of Wareham, Arthur and his wife Carol of Indian Orchard, Jack and his wife Mary Ellen and Steven Santos all of Palmer, as well as her cherished grandchildren; Kristen, Adam, Anthony, Carlo, Melissa, Desirae, Cassandra, Kaitlin, Christopher and Abel, a great-grandson Caleb, and was waiting for her second great grandchild in March. She also leaves a brother Jimmy Arnone, and sisters Mary Nolan and Jennie Beal, all of Ct. and Fannie Caliento of N.M. and her nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, with burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Friday evening from 4-7 PM .
