Obituary for Leon 'Dick' Pelletier
Leon “Dick” Pelletier, 69, of South Hadley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Friday October 24, 2014. Born in Springfield to the late Joseph and Braida (Tyrell) Pelletier he lived most of his life in Ludlow. He worked for over 20 years at New England Door Closer in West Springfield before retiring, he was an avid Washington Redskins fan, a proud member of the Ludlow Lodge of Elks and enjoyed playing cards and his trips to the Casino. Dick leaves his beloved daughters Cheri Bergeron and husband Roland of South Hadley and Michelle Pelletier and her companion Jon Herbert of Holyoke; loving grandchildren Allison and Eric Bergeron; his caring brothers and sisters, Joseph Pelletier and wife Ellen, Yvonne Taillefer, Joanne Paquin, Barbara Brunelle, Kathleen Pelletier and the late Luis Pelletier; his former wife Janice Pelletier and his special friend, Joanne Smith and her daughter Tara Moretti, as well as several cherished nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Chapel services celebrating Dick’s life will be held on Thursday October 30th, 2014 from Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are 4:00pm-6:00pm followed by a Chapel service at 6:15pm. It was the wish of his family that in lieu of flowers please make donations in his memory to: Hospice of the Fisher House, 1165 North Pleasant St. Amherst, MA. 01002.
