It is with profound sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of Linda Jayne McGrath (11/15/1946 to 4/13/2025). After battling a lengthy illness, Linda Jayne passed peacefully on Sunday night in the arms of her loving husband of 45 years, Michael P, McGrath, in their Ludlow home. Linda Jayne was born in Nyack, NY to Nancy Forman Hall and Wayne Hall. She had one brother, also Wayne Hall. All who predeceased her. Also predeceasing her was her daughter Lisa C. Haas. Mrs. McGrath is survived by her adoring son Anthony E. Haas and his wife Carol Pavia, and many cousins, half-siblings, and friends. Linda Jayne was an extremely intelligent, determined, kind hearted, and funny woman. When they were growing Linda Jayne’s children called her Sara Lee as cooking was not her forte. Instead, her forte was loving, caring for, and providing for them, many years as a single mother. Besides her family, her passion was animals. She owned and competitively rode horses from the time she was a very little girl winning many ribbons. In the 1980’s, she and her husband cofounded an animal rescue organization in Belchertown called A.R. F. - Animals Require Friends. LJ, as known to her friends, had a very strong work ethic and was a successful Realtor for several years. Her husband gives special thanks to the Mercy Life PACE organization for all they did for her and him over the last six years; stating he and Linda Jayne never would have made it to this point without them. Funeral services for Linda Jayne will be held privately by her family; a small family and special invitee luncheon will be held at the McGrath home following the services. Rather than flowers, the McGraths would appreciate any donations be made to your local Animal Rescue Organization. The only thing one takes with them to their grave is their character.
