Obituary for Lionel A. Gamache
Lionel A. Gamache, 89, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on July 30, 2006. Born in Ludlow, the son of the late Joseph and Denise (Couture) Gamache, he was a lifelong resident and a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Lionel was a retired employee of the Smith & Wesson Co., and prior to that he had worked for many years at the former Westinghouse Corp. and Springfield Armory. He was predeceased by his wife Rita (Labine) Gamache, who died in 1996, and leaves 2 daughters; Jeanne Saletnik and her husband Louis of Ludlow and Elaine McKeone and her husband Raymond of Atlanta Ga., a brother Ernest of N.J., a sister Therese Gamache of Springfield, as well as 3 grandchildren, Sherri Gomes and her husband Mark and Carrie Chabot and her husband Thomas all of Ludlow and Heather McKeone of Framingham, Ma.  3 great grandchildren, Ryan and Derek Gomes and Brianna Chabot, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday  morning at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. John the Baptist Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-7pm and donations may be made in Lionel’s memory to the American Heart Association PO BOX 3049 Syracuse NY, 13220-3049 or Shriner’s Hospital 516 Carew St. Springfield Ma 01104.Â
