Obituary for Louis S. Fidalgo
Louis Fidalgo, 78, of Wilbraham was called home to be with God on Sunday, May 1st, 2011. Born in Ludlow to the late Joaquim and Diolinda (Rosa) Fidalgo he was raised and spent his early years in Ludlow before moving to Wilbraham in 1971. Louis worked for 35 years at the Atlantic Tea Company in East Hartford, and later as a head custodian for the Wilbraham Schools. He was a faithful communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church in Wilbraham, a member of the Gremio Lusitano Club and Knights of Columbus. As a soldier in the United States Army, Louis served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Constance (Gurski) Fidalgo in 2000, and 2 brothers Arthur and Anthony. He leaves his 4 sons; Michael, and his wife Brenda, Todd, and his wife Linda, Darryl, and John , 2 brothers; Frank and Alfred, as well as 3 grandchildren, Chad Michael and Halley. Funeral services for Louis will be held on Friday May 6th at 9 AM from the Ludlow Funeral Home , followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Cecelia’s Church at 10. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-7 P.M., and donations may be made to St. Cecelia’s Church , or the Holyoke Soldier’s Home.
