Obituary for Lourenco "Larry" Esteves

Lourenco “Larry” Esteves, 78, of Wilbraham died on Sunday, May 8, 2011 of cancer at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Ludlow on April 27, 1933 to Antonio and Rose Esteves, he attended Ludlow schools where he was an outstanding athlete He served honorably in the U.S. Navy and also worked for Smith and Wesson and the Prudential Insurance Company. Larry was an avid sportsman and enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed collecting and working on his hunting equipment, tinkering in the garage, keeping the yard and everything “just so”, breakfast with his buddies, outdoor grilling at home, and driving his Jeep. His favorite place to relax was their own park bench at home. Larry is survived by his beloved wife Dolores and her children: Steven Roy, of Nashua, NH, Michael Roy, of Townsend, MA, Linda Roy, of Davenport, Iowa, and their families. He is also survived by his children Debra Esteves, of Orlando, FL, Kimberly Mason, of Richmond, NH, Pamela Sumal, of Sussex, NJ, Matthew Esteves, of Hampstead, NC; as well as his 6 grandchildren; and his sister Betty Warchol and husband Jim, of San Diego, CA. Funeral services and burial with military honors will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to St. Cecelia’s Church Main St. Wilbraham, Ma. 01095, of which he was a communicant or Wilbraham Ambulance Gift Fund 2770 Boston Rd. Wilbraham, Ma. 01095.
