Obituary for Lucia (Agostinho) Rua
Lucia (Agostinho) Rua, 75, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Friday, August 3, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Freires, Benedita, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio Agostinho and Silvina Agostinho. Lucia lived in Ludlow for many years and was faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish and a loved supporting the Adoration Chapel of Christ the King Parish. She worked for many years at the Carter’s Company and Ludlow Plastics Division. Lucia was the beloved wife of 35 years to Domingos Rua; a dear sister to the late Maria Silvina Agostinho Santos and late husband Antonio Santos of Portugal, Jose Agostinho and wife Zita of Portugal, Antonio Agostinho and wife Canica of Portugal, Natalia Belo and husband Eugenio of Portugal, Esperança Fialho and husband Armando of Ludlow, and the late Gloria Agostinho of Portugal; a cherished sister-in-law to Manuel Rua and wife Ester of Ludlow, and Maria Pereira and husband Amandio of Ludlow; and also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.Visiting hours are Wednesday morning August 7th, from 8:30am -10:15am at the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lucia's memory to American Kidney Fund (www.kidneyfund.org).
