Lucilia Oliveira, 87, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 at Baystate Medical Center Springfield, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ferrel Portugal on June 8, 1936, she was the beloved daughter of the late Henrique and Manuela D’Oliveira. Lucilia immigrated to the United States in 1988 and settled in Ludlow with her husband, Paulo Rosa, who sadly predeceased her in 1989. Vo Lu, as she was affectionately known, was happiest when spending time with her family and friends. She was a kind, gentle and generous soul that led a simple life and devoted herself to caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the children of others for many years. She will be sadly missed by her son Paulo Rosa (Ana) of Portugal, her daughters; Maria Alves (predeceased by husband Mario), Paula Calheno (Augie) and Sandra Fernandes (Tony) all of Ludlow; her six cherished grandchildren: Vando Rosa, Carla Silva (Licinio), Andre Lopes, Stephanie Rodrigues (Derek), Anthony Fernandes (Kim) and Filipe Fernandes; and her six cherished great- grandchildren: Karina Silva, Marcelo Silva, Ethan Love, Gavin Rodrigues, Victoria Rodrigues and A.J. Fernandes. She will also be sadly missed by her much-loved nieces and nephews in Portugal and in Switzerland and other extended family and friends. Funeral arrangements will be private and burial in Ferrel Portugal.
