Obituary for Lucille (Gaudreau) Hiersche
Lucille (Gaudreau) Hiersche, 89, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home in Agawam where she resided for the past 3 years. Born in Ludlow to the late Leodore and Bertha (Barrett) Gaudreau, she was a lifelong Ludlow resident and 1942 graduate of Ludlow High School. Lucille also graduated from the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing in 1946 and worked for many years for the Registry of Nurses. She enjoyed square dancing and belonged to several local clubs including the 16 Acres and Chicopee Square Dance Clubs, but her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her cherished family. Lucille leaves her devoted husband of 66 years George Hiersche of Southwick; beloved daughters Shelly Bayton and husband William of Southwick and Karen Bognar and husband Richard of Torrington, CT; loving grandsons Anthony Piazza and wife Trina and Kenneth Piazza and wife Mia; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters Ella Tetreault and Bernadette Bourbeau both of Ludlow, and several nieces and nephews. Lucille’s family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the staff at Heritage Hall North and Hospice Services of Western Mass for the wonderful and compassionate care they gave to her during her time there. Visiting hours are Saturday afternoon from 2:00-4:00pm at the Ludlow Funeral Home, 432 East Street. Lucille’s burial will be held privately by her family.Â
