Obituary for Lucille L. (Santos) Carneiro
Lucille L. (Santos) Carneiro, 93, of Ludlow, passed away on July 22. Born in New Bedford, MA, daughter of the late Mary Santos, she grew up in Yonkers, NY and moved after her marriage to Ludlow, where she lived for the rest of her life. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, and served for many years as secretary of the Ludlow Council on Aging and the Friends of the Ludlow Senior Center. After retiring from her career as an executive secretary with Avco Financial Services, she enjoyed line dancing, volunteering at the Ludlow Senior Center, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Lucille is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joaquim (Jack) Carneiro of Ludlow; their daughter Andrea Carneiro & her partner Renee Sevigny of Warwick, RI; her sister Mary Cifuni of Staten Island, NY; and many nieces and nephews she loved very much.
Visiting hours for Lucille are on Monday, July 29th from 4:00 - 7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Tuesday, July 30th. Visitation will begin at 9:15am concluding with a funeral service at 10:00am in the funeral home followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Lucille’s memory to the Friends of the Ludlow Senior Center Building Fund, 37 Chestnut Street, Ludlow, MA.
