Lucille (Lu) Ouellette, 81, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2024, in Bonita Springs, Florida, after a long illness.
She was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, to Aurel and Yvonne Carignan Bouchard. After graduating from Cathedral High School in Springfield, Lucille met her husband, Larry, and they were married in April 1966. Together, they had two daughters.
Lucille had a full life, filled with good friends and family that will miss her dearly. She spoke often of her roles at Childrens Language Institute (CLI) in Ludlow and at Friendly's Corporation in Wilbraham. A lifelong Catholic, she had an unwavering faith and deep love for God. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards, reading, making jigsaw puzzles, and laughing with friends. Some might say she always had an ace up her sleeve, just ask her grandsons. Lucille was a master at making tourtiere and never passed up an opportunity for a trip to the casino to play the slots. After living most of her life in Massachusetts, she decided to leave snowy winters behind and head south to the warm and sunny climate of Florida. Lucille had many successes in her life, but she felt that her biggest accomplishment was her two daughters.
Lucille was predeceased by her husband Laurence, her parents, and her brother. She is survived by her two daughters, Christine (Kenneth) Campbell of Colorado, and Maggie (Michael) Gaffney of Florida; her four grandsons Ryan, Patrick, Nolan, and William; her sister, Denise; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral mass to be held on Wednesday, July 03, 2024, at 9:30 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 191 Hubbard Street, Ludlow, Massachusetts. A graveside service at Island Pond Cemetery will follow.
