Mabel (Widell) Kolesar, 81, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2008, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, daughter of the late Oscar and Christine Widell, where she was a 1945 graduate of Girls Commercial High School. In 1955, she moved to Wilbraham and was a former member of Wilbraham United Church. Mabel also worked for many years at the Forest Park branch of Valley Bank and was a member and financial secretary in the Sons of Norway organization in Springfield. She was an avid bowler and Red Sox fan and enjoyed cross country skiing; but will undoubtedly be remembered for her outgoing personality, vibrant smile and how much she loved and was loved by her family members and friends. Mabel was the beloved wife of 58 years to John Kolesar; a loving mother to Robert Kolesar and his wife Karen, of Ohio; Susan Oppel and Walter Grohs, of Ludlow, and a cherished grandmother to Matthew Oppel, Walter Grohs, Jr.,  Michael Oppel and Brett Oppel; and also leaves many other loving family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held privately by the family with a private burial in Woodland Dell Cemetery. Ludlow Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mabel’s memory to the Alzheimers Association 264 Cottage St. Springfield, Ma. 01104.  Â
