Obituary for Manuel Arez Cabrita
Manuel Arez Cabrita, 81, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on Sept. 27, 2010, with his loving family by his side. Born in Algarve, Portugal, he proudly served in the Portuguese Navy aboard the naval ship Sagres. He came to Ludlow over 40 years ago and worked for over 35 years at Zero Manufacturing in Monson before retiring. He enjoyed spending time at the Gremio Lusitano Club, hunting, sports, and reading his favorite newspaper “Sporting”; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his adoring family. Manuel was the beloved husband of Maria C. (Goncalves) Cabrita; a loving father to Carmen (Cabrita) Carvalho and her husband Antonio; a devoted grandfather to Brian Carvalho, of CA and Karla Carvalho, of Ludlow; cherished great-grandfather of Kaleb Manuel Valadares; a dear brother to his siblings in Portugal; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Manuel are on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010 at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday evening from 5-8pm.
