Obituary for Manuel G. Branco
Manuel G. Branco, 90, of Ludlow, Passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born in Padroso, Montalegre, Portugal, son of the late Antonio and Ana Branco, he immigrated to the United States on July 24, 1972 and worked for many years at Savage Arms in Westfield before retiring. Manuel was also a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church, a proud member of the Gremio Lusitano Club, and enjoyed gardening; but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his loving family. Manuel was the beloved husband of 57 years to Ana Branco; a loving father to Ralph Branco and wife Karen (Crean), of Ludlow, Joe Branco and wife Leslie (Ciepiela), of Agawam, and Elisabete (Branco) Goncalves and husband DJ, of Ludlow; a devoted grandfather to Tyler, Nico, and Gianna Branco, and Alexandrea and Dominique Goncalves; a loving brother to Ana Ribas and husband Antonio, of Ludlow, and the late Isabel Pires, Jose Branco, and Arminda Barros and late husband Antonio; the dear brother-in-law of Gina Ribas and late husband Manuel, of Bridgeport, CT, Joaquina Branco and late husband Antonio, of Portugal, and the late Domingos and Eliza Branco; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Manuel’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to Baystate Hospice, especially to Donna and Jennifer, for their exceptional care and compassion. Funeral services for Manuel will be held on Monday, March 26th at 9:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home followed by Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Sunday from 2:00-5:00pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Manuel’s memory to Baystate Hospice 50 Maple Street Springfield, Ma. 01103.
