Obituary for Manuel "Geese" Pereira
Manuel “Geese” Pereira, 87, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Tuesday, June 22nd, 2010. Born in Ludlow to the late Jose Rego and Annunciacao Costa, he was a lifelong resident. He worked at Package Machinery in East Longmeadow for over 33 years before his retirement in 1985, he also belonged to the Chicopee Elks. Geese leaves his loving son Larry Pereira and his wife Muriel of New Bern, N.C.; grandsons Larry Lee Pereira Jr. and Ross Anthony Pereira both of N.C; cherished great-granddaughter Kristin Leigh and a sister Diolinda Amadeo of Florida. Manuel also leaves his dear caregiver of 13 years Beverly Hewitt of Wilbraham and her family as well as several nieces and nephews throughout the community. Geese was predeceased by his brother Albert in 1998 and his sister Hazel Alves in 1989. A chapel service for Manuel will be held on Friday, June 25th, 2010 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours will precede the service from 8:15-10:00am. Burial will be at the convenience of the family and they have requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his Geese’s memory to the Chicopee Lodge of Elks 431 Granby Road, Chicopee, MA.
