Obituary for Manuel Vicente Rodrigues
Manuel V. Rodrigues, 78 of Ludlow passed away on Friday, February 4th 2022. He was born in Cabecos, Evora de Alcobaca, to the late Antonio Rodrigues and mother Gestrudes Maria Rodrigues. He immigrated to the United States in 1972. He worked at Moore Drop Forge and Easco Hand Tools until he found his passion and successfully ran, along with his wife Elvira Rodrigues, Manny’s Butcher Shop of Indian Orchard for 25 years. He was a llifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Fatima and a member at Gremio Lusitano Club of Ludlow. He loved his community. He enjoyed traveling and site seeing with family and friends. Manuel never left the room without making you smile. He loved to dance and sing and was always the life of the party but most of all he loved his family. Never too tired to play with his sons and grandchildren, his patience, love and understanding was everlasting. He was a beacon of joy, true care and guidance. He was Manuel “Valente”. A fitting name to a man that to all he gave his all. He leaves his beloved wife Elvira Rodrigues, loving sons’ Victor and wife Terry, Nelson and wife Stela; his adored grandchildren Alexander, Hailey and Zackary. his brother Antonio Rodrigues and wife Graciete; his sister Maria Rosa and husband Antonio Rosa; his godchildren Sue Robinson, Michael Rodrigues, Filipe Tomas and Charlie DaSilva; His nephew Antonio Rosa and his nieces Grace Ploud, Diane Rodrigues and Suzanne Baker. Funeral services for Manny will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2022 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday morning from 9:00am-10:15am with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
