Obituary for Marcelina (Vaz) Machado
Marcelina (Vaz) Machado, 84, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Monday January 4, 2021. Born in Montalegre, Portugal daughter of the late Manuel Vaz and Maria (Fernandes) Vaz, she emigrated from Portugal in 1972 and has lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Marcelina loved baking Portuguese breads and spending time with her grandchildren. She was the beloved wife of Fernando Machado of Ludlow; loving mother to Christina Brown and her husband Kevin of Ludlow; adored grandmother to Alexandre and Madeline and the dear sister to Maria Castro and her husband Manuel, Julio Vaz and his wife Maria and predeceased by brother Joao Vaz and sister-in-law Dorothy Vaz. Marcelina also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family members and dear friends as well as her cat Fofinha. Funeral services for Marcelina will be held on Saturday January 9, 2021 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. A walk-through visitation adhering to social distancing and non contact will be on Saturday morning from 9:15-10:30am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
