Obituary for Margaret "Maggie" Bedard Gaudette
Margaret (Maggie) Bedard Guadette of Ludlow, MA passed away August 16, 2009 surrounded by her loving family. Born December 21, 1919 in Wales MA of Fredrick and Sarah (Schofield)Bliss. She was predeceased by her husbands Adelard Dumas, Marcel L Bedard and Raymond Gaudette. She lived in Holland and Sturbridge before moving to Ludlow MA in 1956.
Her career included employment in the American Optical Company in Southbridge, MA, and waitressing in several renown restaurants including The Publick House in Sturbridge MA. In later years she and her husband Marcel, operated Ludlow Sewing Machine Ctr. in Ludlow MA. In addition she worked at Monsanto and then as bookkeeper in the Construction field for A. L. Amaral and Sons.
She was an avid reader and crossword puzzle devotee, and enjoyed many years of boating with the family. In her later years she was a “snowbird” spending many winters in Lake Wales, Florida.
She is survived by her children Brian Bedard (Linda), Judie Chenaille (Bob), and Sharon Bedard; her 7 grandchildren, Danielle Chenaille, Kelli (John) Jacuby, Jeffrey, Kyle (Melanie) and Michelle Bedard, and Sean and Christian Pearce. She will also be missed by her 6 Great Grandchildren Derek, Dylan, Bethany, Devin Bedard, and Nick and Ryan Jacuby. She leaves her sisters Kathleen Krawiec and Grace (Wells) Southall and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She is predeceased by her brothers Fred, Harold, Peter, John, Charles, and Thomas Bliss; and Kenneth, Robert and John Wells; and her sisters Mary B Webster, and Ruth Bliss.
Visiting Hours are 9-11AM, Thursday, 8/20/2009 at the Ludlow Funeral Home on 432 East St., with services immediately following at 11Am presided by Monsignor Homer Gosselin. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St John the Baptist Church either the School or Parish Fund, 181 Hubbard St., Ludlow, MA 01056.
