Obituary for Maria Adelaide (Oliveira) Morgado
Maria Adelaide (Oliveira) Morgado, 72, long time resident of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Tuesday May 27, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Born in Caldas da Rainha, Portugal to the late Lucrecio and Maria Oliveira she immigrated to Ludlow in 1966. Maria was a former member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, she enjoyed cooking, baking, crocheting and gardening but her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Manuel in 2002; she leaves her loving children, Nelson Morgado of Ludlow, Fatima Scipione and husband James of Boston and Anabela Ricardo and husband Paul of Chicopee; cherished grandmother to Melissa and husband Christopher, Megan, Christopher, Nicholas, James Jr., Brendon, Madison and Zackary; great-grandmother to Cameron and a caring sister to Lucrecia and Aderito and also leaves many adored nieces, nephew family and friends. Sadly Maria was predeceased by her sisters Rosa, Carolina, Natarcia and brothers Jose and Armando. Maria’s Family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Wingate Nursing Home in Wilbraham for the exceptional care they gave to her during her time there. Funeral services for Maria will be held on Friday, May 30, 2014 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian burial celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 5:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Maria’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association @ alzfdn.org or to the American Stroke Association @ stroke association.org.
