Obituary for Maria Amelia (Venancio) Soares
Maria Amelia (Venancio) Soares, 70, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sobral da Lagoa, Obidos, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Maxemino and Marta Venancio. She immigrated to the United States at a young age and settled in Ludlow where she was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church. Maria’s love poured into her cooking, baking, and crocheting. She loved going to all of her children’s and grandchildren’s soccer games and events and was affectionately known as the “ginja” lady.; but above all, her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. Amelia was the beloved wife of 50 years to Fernando Soares; a loving mother to Natalina Tulik and husband Lou, Danny Soares and wife Rachyl, Mario Soares and companion Christine Karetka, Bella Soares and companion Tim Paulo, and Carlo Soares, all of Ludlow; a devoted grandmother to Ryan Soares, Joana and Sofia Tulik, Hunter Soares, Arianna Soares, and Ciera Paulo; a cherished sister to Mateus "Matt" Venancio, Madail “Maddy” Venancio, Rosa Venancio and companion Bob Bilodeau, and the late Maria Leonor Venancio; and also many loving extended family members and dear friends. Visiting hours for Maria Amelia will be held on Friday, June 18th from 5:00-7:00pm in Ludlow Funeral Home. Funeral services are on Saturday, June 19th at 9:00am in Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by entombment in Most Holy Redeemer Mausoleum at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
