Obituary for Maria D. (Dias) Portelada
Maria D. (Dias) Portelada, 73, of Ludlow, died peacefully at home on August 14, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Travasos de Cha, Montalegre, Portugal, she has lived in Ludlow most of her life where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church. She was also employed for many years at Arrow Elastic before her retirement. Maria was the beloved wife of 47 years to Antonio J. Portelada; a loving mother to John Portelada and wife Crystal, of Ludlow and Gloria Belsky and husband Harris, of New Mexico; a cherished grandmother of Katti, John, Adam, and Noah; adoring great-grandmother to Tessa and Eva; dear sister to Jose, Fernanda and Rosa, of France and the late Avelino; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services for Maria will be held on Saturday, August 18th at 8:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday from 4-7pm.
