Maria De Fatima Santos – Born March 2nd , 1939, in Santa Cruz on the island of Graciosa Azores, was surrounded by her two daughters when she was called to heaven on August 26th, 2024. Maria, affectionately known as Fatima, was born to Amelia and Cirilio Da Cunha. She is predeceased by both parents as well as her three sisters, Cidalia, Gloria and Eva and brother Cirilio. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Paula Santos-Norton and her husband, Paul Norton, and Amelia Santos-Dias and her husband, Sergio Dias, all of Ludlow MA. Fatima’s legacy also lives on through her four beloved grandchildren: Andre Dias and his wife, Vanessa Roxo, Cody Dias, Alexis Holdsworth, and Nina Dias all of Ludlow. Additionally, she leaves behind her dear nephew Jose Duarte Alves of Terceira Azores. In February of 1968, Fatima embarked on a new journey, immigrating to the United States with her husband and young daughters. She worked many years at Spalding Factory in Chicopee and eventually retired from Janlyn Corporation. Fatima was a woman dedicated to her family. She loved to gather her family and cook big family meals. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Fatima and her late husband shared a passion for travel, frequently visiting favorite destinations like Cancun Mexico, often accompanied by a large group of friends. Fatima was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish of Ludlow Mass. In honor of her memory, the family kindly requests that donations be made for masses in her name to Our Lady of Fatima Parish. Fatima will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many. She will be profoundly missed by those who were fortunate to be part of her life. Funeral services for Fatima will be held on Thursday August 29th, 2024 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is Thursday morning from 9:00-10:15am with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Parish followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
