Obituary for Maria G. Maio
Maria G. daRocha Maio, 99, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2017. Born in Portugal, she has lived in Ludlow for many years where she was a faithful communicant of Our Lady Of Fatima Church. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Ernesto Maio, who predeceased her in 2002. She is survived by her children; Carlos of I.O., Ernesto and wife Christine of Chicopee, and Idalete “Edie” Barbosa and husband Orlando; 6 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; as well as a sister in Portugal. Sadly, Maria was predeceased by her son Alberto and daughter Maria Filipe. Funeral services will be Monday, July 31, 2017 at 10:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Our Lady of Fatima Church at 11:00am followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4:00-7:00pm and in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Springfield Rescue Mission or the Indian Orchard Survival Center in her memory.
