Obituary for Maria (Gil) Venancio
Maria (Gil) Venancio, 93, of Ludlow, died peacefully on June 10, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Jose and Adeline (Martins) Gil, she was a longtime resident of Ludlow and Indian Orchard where she was faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and the former St. Matthew's Church. Â She also loved cooking, vegetable gardening, and especially spending time with her family. Maria was a loving mother to Hazel Henrichon and husband Corey, of Belchertown, Maria Julia Guzik and husband Michael, of Hardwick, and the late Manuel Venancio and Maria Leal; a cherished grandmother to Eric Guzik, Keith Leal, Marie, Ronald, and Michael Venancio, and Devon and Kelly Henrichon; an adoring great-grandmother of 10 and great-great grandmother of 1; a dear sister to Victoria Silva, Celeste Santos, Justina Costa, and the late Antonio, Joaquim, and Jose Gil, Herminia Fonseca, and Isaura Silva; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the directors, nurses, and entire staff of Wingate at Hampden Nursing Home for the loving care that they provided her over the past 6 years, as well as Beacon Hospice for their exceptional care in her last 2 weeks. Â Funeral services for Maria will be on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 10:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours will precede the funeral from 8:30-10:00am
