Maria Vitorino, 89, of Springfield passed away peacefully at home on Thursday December 3, 2020 in Naples, Florida. Born in Carris De Evora, Alcobaca, Portugal on January 13, 1931 to the late Antonio and Elisa (Rainha) Joao. She has lived in Springfield since 1960 and was a communicant of Christ the King Parish in Ludlow. Maria enjoyed sewing, flower gardening and cooking but her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her cherished family. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Albino da Silva Vitorino of Springfield; loving children Carlos Vitorino and his wife Karen of South Hadley, Connie Bouchard and husband David of Naples Florida, adored grandchildren Jennifer Holderman, Jesse Bouchard, Dessire Vitorino and Matthew Vitorino, Justin and Alex Bouthillette, her 3 great-grandsons Devon, Gavin and Owen. Her brothers Tony, Luis and Jack Joao of Ludlow and her sisters Connie Filipe of Venice Florida and Trinda Agostinho of Ludlow. Sadly she was predeceased by her brother's Jose, Manuel, Francisco, Arnaldo, Diamantino, Fernando and sister Sr. Elvira Rainha. A walk through visitation for Maria will be held on Friday December 11th at 8:45 to 10:15 a.m. in Ludlow Funeral Home adhering to social distancing and no contact guidelines. Liturgy of Christian burial celebrated in Christ the King Church at 11 a.m. followed by Burial in Island Pond Cemetery.
