Obituary for Maria (Leandro) Silveira
Maria (Leandro) Silveira, 89, of Ludlow passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on Wednesday February 5, 2020. Born in Pedra Amassada, Portugal she was the daughter of the late Joaquim and Gertrudes Leandro. Maria worked for many years at Ludlow Textile Mills and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was the beloved wife of the late Fernando Silveira who sadly predeceased her in 1993. Maria leaves her loving sons Victor Silveira and his wife Diana of Ludlow and David Silveira and his wife Brenda of Sturbridge; her adored grandchildren Christopher Silveira and his wife Andrea, Karen Silveira Carver and her husband Nicholas, Kaitlin Silveira and Eric Silveira; cherished great grandsons Benjamin, Triston and Evan; caring brothers Orlando and Augusto Leandro and her sister Maria Conceicao Massano; Maria also leaves her former daughter-in-law Penny Lebel and her husband Mike. Funeral services for Maria will be held on Tuesday February 11, 2020 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours are Monday evening from 4:00-6:00pm.
