Obituary for Maria (Pereira Gomes) de Brito
Maria Candida (Pereira Gomes) de Brito 90, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully, on July 13, 2017 with her loving family by her side. Born in Porto, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Abilio Gomes Ferreira and Maria Joana Pereira. She was the widow of Agostinho de Brito, who predeceased her in 2003. Candida enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her daughter, Isabel Ribeiro, and her husband Alfredo, a grandson Jorge and his wife Rosemary, as well as 2 great granddaughters, Samantha and Marissa, all of Ludlow. The family would like to personally thank the staff and nurses at Wingate of Wilbraham Nursing Home, and Dr. José Vinagre for their excellent care and compassion that was shown to Candida. It was Candida’s wish that all services and burial take place in Portugal.
