Obituary for Maria (Rainho) Da Silva
Maria (Rainho) Da Silva, 85, of Indian Orchard died peacefully March 12, 2007,surrounded by her loving family. Born in Porto de Mos, Portugal she has lived in the Indian Orchard section of Springfield since 1968. Maria was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She leaves her children; Joaquim Silva and his companion Tammy of Ludlow, Paulo Silva and his wife Peggy of East Longmeadow and Maria Vasco and her companion Victor of Indian Orchard; her brother Joao Rainho of Portugal; cherished grandchildren Kyle Silva, Danielle, Silva, Dora-Milena Mortel and Coryn Thurber, and great-granddaughter Savannah Thurber. Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband Joaquim Dasilva, who passed away in 2000, as well as her brother Manuel Rainho, sister Maria Cristina Dos Santos and grandson Luis-Filipe Vasco. Funeral services will be held Thursday morning March 15, 2007 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday evening from 5-8pm.  In Lieu of flowers donations may be made in Maria’s memory to Hospice Life Care 113 Hampden St. Holyoke, MA. 01040.Â
