Obituary for Maria (Santos) Talaia
Maria (Santos) Talaia, 91, of Indian Orchard passed away peacefully on Friday June 3rd, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Abelheira, Portugal to the late Manuel Ministro and Gloria Tiago, she immigrated to this country in 1966 and was a faithful communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a talented seamstress. She enjoyed cooking, going to Cape Cod with her family and just spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Miguel Talaia who predeceased her in 2002. She leaves her devoted children Marie Lenor Auclair and husband James Foley, Edmund Talaia and his wife Charlene and Ronald Talaia and his wife Michele; adored grandchildren Scott Auclair, Jason Auclair, Daniel Auclair, Nicole Talaia, Karissa Talaia, Michael Talaia and Gabriel Talaia; great grandchildren Andrew, Madeline, Emma, Jackson; She also leaves her sister-in-law Almerinda Talaia as well as her brothers, sisters and many nieces, nephews and friends who loved her dearly. Funeral services for Maria will be held on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 8:30am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Mass celebrated at 10:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in Island Pond Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday evening from 4:00-7:00 at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Maria’s memory to the Springfield Rescue Mission.
