Obituary for Maria (Tezzi) Casagranda
Maria (Tezzi) Casagranda, 80, of Ludlow passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Born in Harrison, NY to the late Dominick and Theresa (Valentino) Tezzi she was a long time Ludlow resident and communicant of St. Elizabeth Church. Maria enjoyed Bingo and playing cards, but her greatest joy in life was the time spent with her cherished family. Maria was the wife of the late Walter Casagranda who predeceased her in 1987. She leaves her beloved children; Mary LaValley, Donna Harris and husband William, David Casagranda, Gina Cahill and Husband William, Robert Casagranda and Gary Casagranda and his wife Maria; loving grandchildren Brianna Harris, Austin Harris, Hannah Cahill, Landen Cahill, Ashley Casagranda, Alexis Casagranda, Nicole and Derek Booth, Mark Robleto, Shannon Donahue and David Day; great-grandchildren Alannah Forte, Tyler and Brady Booth and Roger Yurko Jr.; caring sisters Nancy McNally and husband Mac, Nikki Petrone and husband Michael and a brother Sonny Tezzi and his wife Bonnie. Sadly she was predeceased by her son-in-law William LaValley. Funeral services celebrating Maria’s life will be held on Friday, January 24th, 2014 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Church at 10:00am followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Visiting hours are Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm. In lieu of flowers it was the wish of Maria’s family that donations may be made in her memory to the charity of ones choice.
