Obituary for Maria (Vaz) Dias
Maria V. Dias fell into the arms of Jesus on April 14, 2020. Born July 18, 1940 in Solveria, Portugal. She was the daughter of Manuel Caixeiro and Ana Vaz. A devoted communicant of our Lady of Fatima Church and retired from Dielectrics.
Maria was as beautiful a person on the inside as she was on the outside. Sincere, honest, loving, straightforward, giving. Her loving family was her whole world. Her eyes would light up each time she saw them. She gave so much of herself to them and was always showering them with her love and affection. Her favorite thing was “I love you, I love you!” Everything she said was truly from the heart- you could always feel Maria’s love.
She enjoyed taking walks, pictures, gardening, watching her great-grandchildren’s soccer games and family gatherings. She and her loving husband, Fernando were known for always giving their neighbors beautiful vegetables that they grew in their garden. Both heartfelt, and welcoming people.
Maria leaves her loving husband of 57 years, Fernando; her loving son, Fernando Dias; her devoted and loving daughter, Anna Vital and her husband Tony; her cherished grandchildren, Jason DaCruz and wife Allison, Melissa Premo and husband Ian, Shawn DaCruz and fiancée Brittanie, Nina Vital, Tanya Vital and husband Marvin, Eric Dias, and Corey Dias; her precious great-grandchildren, Jayden, Maria, Cruz, Landon, Calla, Sadie, Hannah, and Audrey; as well as many loving family members and special friends. Sadly, Maria was predeceased by her grandson Ryan Dias and her sister Lucinda V. DaSilva.
She leaves an emptiness in the hearts of so many, especially in the hearts of her “bubble.” We will always give her love, as she always gave hers. Graveside services will be held privately by the family with a public memorial service to be announced for a later date. Donations in Maria’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association (Diabetes.org)
