Obituary for Marianne (Roy) Ladue
Marianne Ladue, 78, of Springfield, MA died Friday, January 27, 2012 at Reeds Landing. Marianne was born in Springfield, the daughter of Grace (Stebbins) and John E. Roy. She grew up in Indian Orchard and graduated from Commerce High School. She was a longtime resident of Wilbraham before moving to Ludlow. Marianne worked at Mass Mutual until she retired in 1998. She leaves behind and will be missed by her husband of 58 years, Roland Ladue, and their four children, Pati Stillwater and her partner Shirley Van Kainen, Glenn Ladue and wife Bernadette, Gayle White and husband Stephen, and Cheryl Piper and husband Steven. She also leaves her grandchildren Benj, Kaela, Taylor, Jesse, Eli, and Sandra and her three great grandchildren Kaleigh, Caleb and Zachary. Marianne will also be missed by her sisters Patricia Matte, Agnes Therrien, Claire Blanchard, Margaret Leger, and Louise Sedelow. She is predeceased by her sisters Cecelia Smolkowicz and Antoinette Maloni, and her brother Charles (Chick) Roy, as well as her great grandson, Nathan. Marianne was known for her kindness and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful wife, mother and sister. She was a 'crackerjack' seamstress and cook, was expert at refinishing furniture, she loved the beach, and she followed the latest trends in health and fitness. Services for Marianne will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2012. Visiting hours will be from 3:00-4:45pm at Ludlow Funeral Home and Cremation Services concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 5:00pm. Burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery will be held privately by the family at a later date.
