Obituary for Marie T. (Carpanelli) Basili
Marie T. (Carpanelli) Basili, 81, passed away peacefully in Texas on October 3, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Springfield, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary Carpanelli, she was a lifelong resident and graduate of Technical High School. Marie was a long-time employee of the Springfield School Department and the High School of Commerce before retiring and moving to Boca Raton, Florida. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, eating appetizers, good gossip, her friends at Boca Lakes; and especially spending time with her family. Marie was the loving wife of the late Gene Basili; sister of Alfred Carpanelli Jr of Clearwater, FL; a beloved mother to John Dineen and his wife Catherine of Longmeadow, Deborah Fitzer of Mansfield TX, Daniel Dineen and his wife Darcy of Belchertown, and Linda Terrinca and her husband Bert of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother to 8 grandchildren: Veronica, Nicolas, Patrick, Rebecca, Daniel, Abigail, Betinho, and Matthew; great-grandmother of 5; and also leaves many loving extended family members and dear friends. Marie’s family wishes to express their gratitude to the Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital staff for the compassionate and dignified care they provided. Marie’s family will hold private funeral in Massachusetts. graveside services for Marie will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 11:30am in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery (section St. Anne) followed by a gathering at Leone’s Restaurant 320 Cooley St. in Springfield.
