Obituary for Marie (Trudel) Herbert
Marie A. (Trudel) Herbert 83, of Ludlow, passed away on December 30, 2020. Marie was born in Worcester, MA to the late Peter and Marie Trudel on November 28, 1937. She attended high school in Westerly, RI and upon graduation, enlisted in the military. Marie served in the Women’s Army Corps (at the time, the female only branch of the US Army), where she worked as a cryptographer. Upon leaving the military, Marie worked for several companies as a bookkeeper and office manager, eventually retiring from Specialized Carrier in Chicopee. Marie is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Marie Trudel as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She is survived by a son, Michael Herbert of Ludlow, as well as her sister and brother-in-law Judith & Walter Roosa of Shrewsbury. There will be no public wake. A private ceremony will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam prior to burial.
