Obituary for Mario Augusto
Mario Augusto, 68, of Ludlow was called home to be with God on Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Born in Ludlow to the late Antonio and Rosalina (Coelho) Augusto, he was a life long Ludlow resident and 1962 graduate of Ludlow High School and enjoyed coaching Ludlow Youth Soccer. He obtained his Bachelors Degree from WNEC and worked for many years at Community Savings Bank and later Sarat Ford until his retirement in 2007. Mario was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving his country honorably. Mario leaves his beloved wife of 41 years Jacqueline (Boissy) Augusto of Ludlow; loving son Mark Augusto of Ludlow; cherished grandchildren Andrew and Ava Augusto; his caring sisters Maria Helin of Ludlow and Arminda Audette and her husband Paul of Ft. White, Florida along with his nieces and nephew; Denise Albertini, Jennifer Roman and Matthew Helin. Funeral services for Mario will be held on Monday March 18, 2013 from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visiting hours are Monday morning from 10:00am-11:45am followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 12:30pm in St. Elizabeth Church with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding. Burial with Military Honors will be Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, family and friends are asked to meet at the Cemetery promptly at 10:00am for interment. It was the wish of Mario’s family that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his memory to: Town of Ludlow C/O Veterans Services, Veterans Memorial Donation 488 Chapin St. Ludlow, MA. 01056. The proceeds will be used to fund the Veterans Memorial Wall.
