Obituary for Mario Campora
Mario C. Campora, 52, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Ludlow, he was the son of the late Mario and Marie (Casacca) Campora. Mario was a long time Ludlow resident graduating from Ludlow High School in 1975. He was a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and belonged to the Gremio Lusitano Club. Mario loved hiking, golfing, Sunday family dinners, Pioneers soccer games, boating on Haviland Pond, skiing and horseback riding in Colorado, but most of all he will be missed by the family and friends he has left to cherish his memory. He leaves his beloved wife of 33 years Donna (Desormier) Campora of Ludlow; loving children Joshua Campora (Susannah) of Colorado, Angie Bass (John) of North Carolina, Mario Campora (Jen) of Sixteen Acres, Kara-Anne Martins (Brian) of Sixteen Acres; caring grandchildren Jayden, Mia, Anthony and Timothy; sisters Cynthia Campora and Anne McCarthy both of Ludlow, his brother-in-law Gary Steiner of Florida as well as several nieces, nephews and friends throughout the community. Mario was predeceased by his sister Donna Steiner in 2009. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 28th, 2010 at 8:45am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10:00am in the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding, burial will be private. Visiting hours are Thursday evening from 5:00-pm-9:00pm and it was Mario’s wish that in lieu of flowers donations be made in his memory to: Mass General Hospital Cancer Center, Yawkey Building, Suite 7E, 55 Fruit Street, Boston, MA. 02114.
