Obituary for Marion (Gauthier) Marceau
Marion (Gauthier) Marceau, 94, of Ludlow passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday April 12, 2012. Born in Plainfield, Vt., she was the daughter of the late George and Sara (Gagne) Gauthier. Marion lived in Ludlow for many years and was a faithful and active member of St. Elizabeth Church, belonging to its Ladies of St. Ann Sodality, she also volunteered her time making meat pies and participating in the monthly spaghetti suppers. Marion was the beloved wife of the late Wilfred Marceau, who predeceased her in 2002. She leaves her loving children; Charles Marceau and his wife Gail of Granby, Vt., Pat Finnie and her husband Mike of Westfield and Suzanne Marceau of Kings Mountain, North Carolina; cherished grandchildren Michele Finnie of Colorado, Tom Finnie and his wife Christine of East Longmeadow and Rene and Tony Marceau of Vermont; her caring great-grandsons Patrick and Samuel Finnie; her brother Alphonse of New York and her sisters-in-law, Lyle Gauthier of North Carolina and Elaine Gauthier of Chicopee. Sadly Marion was predeceased by her brothers Wilfred, Almose, Alexander, Alfred, Armand and Edmond as well as her sister Antoinette. Funeral services for Marion will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Family and friends are asked to meet at St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow at 8:30am for a Liturgy of Christian Burial, followed by interment in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Visiting hours are Tuesday evening from 5-8pm and in lieu of flowers donations may be made in Marion’s memory to: St. John the Baptist Pastoral Center, Hubbard St. Ludlow, MA. 01056 or Mercy Hospice.
