Obituary for Mary Almeida
Mary Almeida, 92, of Ludlow, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2013, surrounded by her beloved siblings. Born in Ludlow, daughter of the late Domingos and Maria (Belleza) Almeida, she was a lifelong resident and worked for 25 years at Westinghouse and then for 25 years at Smith and Wesson before retiring. She was also a faithful communicant and active volunteer of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Mary was the beloved sister of Casey Almeida and Margaret Mathias, of Ludlow, and Amy Kania, of Rhode Island, and the late Antonio, Jerry, and Joe Almeida, Julie Bertini, Virginia Almeida, and Augusta Leits Aloisa; a cherished aunt to several nieces and nephews; and also leaves several loving extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 8:00am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:00am in Our Lady of Fatima Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Wednesday from 3-6pm.Â
