Obituary for Mary Ann (Tatro nee, Rougier) Leslie
May 31, 2023, Mary Ann Leslie (Tatro, nee Rougier), of Clermont, FL and formerly of Springfield, MA,
cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend to so many, peacefully passed away
after a courageous and inspiring battle with cancer.
Born April 5,1942 to Paul and Gilberte Rougier, Mary Ann grew up on Sumner Ave in Springfield, MA,
together with her older brother Henry. She graduated from Cathedral High School in 1959, followed by
Katherine Gibbs College in Providence, RI. Mary Ann always spoke fondly of her wonderful parents and
memorable childhood, especially summers at their lake house on Benton Pond in East Otis, MA. She is
predeceased by her brother and loving sister-in-law Joan Rougier.
In 2000, Mary Ann relocated to the King’s Ridge community in Clermont, Florida. She enjoyed many
years of bright, warm sunshine together with the most incredible, exceptional friends, who became her
second family. This was especially true over the past four years through their encouragement and
support, companionship and care, selflessly helping with anything and everything, whenever needed.
Mary Ann was known by all for her resolute positivity, profound happiness and heartfelt gratitude. She
was a voracious reader who was never without her Kindle in hand. Mary Ann was an avid sports fan and
fiercely supported her Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. She loved spending
time with her family during holiday visits, camping trips to Lake George and many memorable trips
together. Mary Ann rarely missed a family birthday party and proudly attended almost every
grandchild’s high school and college graduation. They all loved late night card games with Grandma as
well as receiving a surprise box of her famous fudge in the mail.
Beloved Mother of Terri Aharon (Shmuel), Paul Tatro (Dorothy), Brian Tatro (Erin Duschenne), Steven
Tatro (Jennifer) and Traci Williams (Robert). Mary Ann was predeceased by her precious son Ronnie
Tatro (Wendi Osman).
Cherished Grandmother of Nava, David (Rebecca), Sivan and Elinor Aharon, Cody and Cameron Tatro,
Kristin LeBlanc (Tyler), Heather Tatro, Tyler and Nicholas (Sabrina) Tatro, Ashley Duschenne, Zachary and
Sarah Tatro, Travis, Sara and Rebecca Williams (Ryan Lombardi).
Adored Great-Grandmother to Isabella Tatro, Hunter, Luke and Claire LeBlanc.
A private memorial service is planned. In lieu of flowers, please consider honoring the memory of Mary
Ann Leslie with a donation to JGS LifeCare of Longmeadow, MA or the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care
at Baystate Health.
