Obituary for Mary (Catalani) Ziencina
Mary (Catalani) Ziencina, 95, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Wednesday March 19, 2014. Born in Wilbraham to the late Angelo and Emma (Rocchetti) Catalani, she was a long time resident of Ludlow. Mary was a communicant of the former St. Mary of the Assumption Parish and a proud member of its Ladies Guild, she also was active in the Ludlow Senior Center and worked for many years as a seamstress. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore Ziencina who predeceased her in 1975. Mary leaves her loving and devoted children; Thomas Ziencina and wife Sharron of Pinon Hills, CA., Paula Gentile and husband Vincent of Greensboro, NC., and Ted Ziencina and his wife Susanne of East Longmeadow; cherished grandmother of 10, great grandmother of 20 and great-great grandmother of 1. Mary also leaves several caring nieces, nephews extended family and friends throughout the community. Sadly she was predeceased by her brother Guildo Catalani and her sister Nancy Farrell. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Tuesday March 25, 2014. Family and friends are asked to gather for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Elizabeth Church in Ludlow followed by her burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Mary‘s family will receive guests at the church prior to the service from 9:00-9:30am. Her funeral services were entrusted to Ludlow Funeral Home. It was the wish of Mary‘s family that in lieu of flowers, please make donations in her memory to: Carolinas Melanoma & Immunotherapy Fund, c/o Carolinas HealthCare Foundation, 1221 E.
