Obituary for Mary “Mimi” (Miranda) Savoie
Mary "Mimi" (Miranda) Savoie, 88, of Ludlow was called safely home to be with God on Thursday, February 6, 2020 after an eight year battle with the devastating effects of Alzheimer's Disease. Born in Ludlow to the late Joao and Rosalina (Pereira) Miranda, she was a lifelong resident where she graduated from Ludlow High School and was a faithful communicant of St. Elizabeth Catholic Community. Mimi devoted her life to raising her family, and was the beloved wife of Roger Savoie who predeceased her in 2011; a loving mother to her devoted son Keith Savoie and his wife Debra of Feeding Hills and Kathleen Buldini and her husband Bill of Haines City, Florida; a caring sister to Lucy Chenaille of Florida and the late Hazel Lima; an adoring grandmother to Christina Zuccaro and her husband Daniel and their children Chance, Colton and Jacqueline; and also leaves many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Prior to this disease Mimi loved to entertain in her home and also enjoyed dancing and singing. She was bright, funny and feisty, a wonderful wife, mother and care-giver. She taught catechism at Our Lady of Fatima church, volunteered at Brightside, and worked at various retail stores including King's and Steigers until it closed. She loved all animals especially dogs who could always be found sitting next to her at the dinner table. We would like to thank all the wonderful caring staff of Beacon Hospice, The Reserve in East Longmeadow, The Atrium in Agawam, and the Ludlow Senior Center. Also Maria, Isabel and Mary who after Roger passed and the onset of this disease helped Mimi get through some very challenging and confusing times.
