Obituary for Matilda N. (Klaus) Pettazzoni
Matilda N. (Klaus) Pettazzoni, 98, of Ludlow, died peacefully on November 3, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicopee Falls, she was a 1932 graduate of Chicopee High School and member of its Pro Merito Society. Matilda lived for 20 years in Springfield where she was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church before moving to Ludlow in 2000 where she was a communicant of the Catholic Community of St. Elizabeth, also belonging to both churches Womans’ Societies. She worked for many years at American Bosch, Milton Bradley, and A & P Tea Company before retiring. Matilda was the beloved wife of 56 years to the late Alexander A. Pettazzoni who predeceased her in 1997; a loving mother to Richard Pettazzoni and wife Susan M., of Wilbraham, and Barbara Pettazzoni, of Ludlow; a cherished grandmother and great grandmother to Christopher Pettazzoni and wife Kelly, of West Springfield, and their children Sydney and Adam; and Nicholas Pettazzoni, of Boston; a dear sister to the late Nell Wordtt, Marion Tomassetti, Viola Hounslea, Henrietta Mercier, Frederick Klaus, Theodore Klaus; and also leaves many loving extended family members and friends including her sister-in-law Lucy Klaus; as well as her faithful dog Alex.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 9:15am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial in St. Elizabeth Parish at 10:00am followed by burial in St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Chicopee. Visitation will precede the funeral on Wed. from 8:15-9:15am.Â
