Obituary for Matilda "Tillie" (Fioravanti) Dube
Matilda “Tillie” (Fioravanti) Dube passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, Feburary 27th. She was born in Union City, NJ to the late Abramo and Sylvia (Pierri) Fioravanti. She moved to Ludlow as a child and lived there her entire life. Tillie retired as a loan officer, and assistant treasurer after 24 years of service from the former Ludlow Savings Bank. She was a faithful communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church and was very involved in the church activities, including the elderly committee, the choir, and the Ladies Guild. She served her church as a Eucharistic minister. Her loving husband Roger predeceased her in 2006. She leaves her loving son and daughter in law David and Annette Dube of Monson, her cherished grandchildren Jillian Stupak and her husband Zac of South Hadley, Keith Dube and his girlfriend Alyssa Alves of Monson. She also leaves her treasured great grandson Alexander “A.J” Stupak. She is survived by her sister Irene Kowalski of Ludlow; her brothers Robert and his wife Franca, Philip and his wife Gladys, all of Ludlow, and  Donald and his wife Donna of New Hampshire. She also leaves her dear sister in law Jeannine Dube of Ludlow; along with many beloved nieces and nephews, and loyal granddogs Bella and Lindy. Funeral services will be on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2009, at 9am from Ludlow Funeral Home with Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Mary of the Assumption Church with burial to be held privately by the family in Island Pond Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday evening from 4-7pm and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tillie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
