Obituary for Melissa Siu Bean (Burtch) Moorhouse
There is a new angel in heaven. On January 19, 2018, Melissa Siu Bean Moorhouse (Burtch) peacefully left this world at her home in Allston, MA. Missie was born in Hyannis, MA on February 14, 1980. She grew up in Ludlow and attended Ludlow High School before transferring and becoming a member of the first graduating class at Springfield Sci-Tech. She was also a graduate of the Empire Beauty School in Boston.
Missie had many talents. She was a gifted artist and writer. Whether it was turning a piece of paper into a beautiful flower, inventing a game, or reading someone’s tarot cards, her ingenuity and creativity were remarkable. Unfortunately, her many gifts were often overshadowed by her life-long battle with bi-polar disorder. Despite her struggles, she always remained kind of heart, of the most honorable intentions, and generous well beyond her means. Nothing would please her more than giving someone a gift, as long as they opened it immediately.
She leaves behind her beloved husband and partner in life Raymond J. Moorhouse of Allston, MA, her parents George and Judi Burtch of Salisbury, MA, her brother Michael Burtch and his fiancée Melanie Yarbrough of Arlington, MA, her mother-in-law Karen Crow of Monson, MA, her father-in-law Keith Moorhouse of Leesburg, FL, and her brother-in-law Kris Moorhouse of Monson, MA. She also leaves her pet snake Penelope with whom she shared many an adventure.
In addition, she leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She will be missed by all.
Visiting hours for Missie will be held on Friday, January 26th from 4:00-7:00pm at Ludlow Funeral Home concluding with a Celebration of Life Service at 7:00pm. Burial will be held privately by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Red Cross PO Box 37839 Boone, IA 50037-0839 (redcross.org).
