Obituary for Michael A. Thomas
Michael A. Thomas, 72, of Ludlow passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025. Born in Springfield to the late John and Phyllis (Stevens) Thomas he was a life long resident and a 1971 graduate of Ludlow High School. Michael served his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict and his passion was his career as a foreign car mechanic. He enjoyed the beach and fishing in Maine, hunting at the family cabin in N.H. and fishing at the Quabbin. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Gayle (Bourdeau)Thomas of Ludlow; his daughters Tamara Huntley and her partner Kevin Cavanaugh of Ludlow and Rebecca Cekovsky and her husband Shane of Russell: his adored grandchildren Emily and Spencer Huntley; his brothers Philip Thomas and his wife Marilyn and Kenneth Thomas and his wife Doreen; his mother-in-law Virginia Bourdeau of Ludlow and sisters-in-law Carla Marques and husband Jose of Ludlow and Kim Schmidt of Chicopee as well as several loving nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Sadly, Michael was predeceased by his son-in-law Cory Huntley and his father-in-law Normand Bourdeau. Funeral services for Michael will be held on Wednesday, July 16th from the Ludlow Funeral Home. Visitation is from 10:00AM to 11:30 AM with a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 11:30 at the funeral home, followed by a procession to Island Pond Cemetery for Army Military Honors Burial.
