Obituary for Michael S. Mondry
Michael S. Mondry, 89, of Ludlow, was called safely home to be with God on Wednesday, February 18, 2009.  Born in Holyoke to the late John and Mary (Lapa) Mondry, he lived most of his life in Ludlow and worked at UniRoyal in Chicopee for many years before retiring in 1979.  Michael was a U.S. Army Veteran proudly serving his country during WWII.  He served in the Battle of the Bulge and was the recipient of various ribbons and medals including the Bronze Star.  He was a faithful communicant of Christ the King Church belonging to its Men’s Guild Bingo Committees, as well as a member of the Polish American Citizens Club where he also worked Bingo.  He was also a member of the Wilbraham VFW and an avid Red Sox Fan.  Michael was the devoted husband of the late Evelyn (Cygan) Mondry, who predeceased him in 2007, and beloved father to his son Attorney Paul Mondry who passed away in 2003; the loving father-in-law of Doreen Mondry Bylicki of Ludlow; a cherished grandfather to Matthew and Andrew Mondry; was a dear brother to several brothers and sisters including, Frank Madry and Caroline (Madra) Szymonik; and also leaves several loving nieces, nephews, family members and dear friends.  Funeral services for Michael will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 9:00am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Christ the King Church followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery.  Visiting hours are on Friday evening from 4-7pm.
