Obituary for Mildred M. (Mikula) Monette
Mildred M. (Mikula) Monette, 91, formerly Guertin Street, was called safely home on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Born in Indian Orchard, the daughter of Walter and Margaret (Pirdos) Mikula, she was a lifelong resident of Ludlow; a faithful communicant of St. John the Baptist Church; and a member of the Ludlow Senior Center and Ludlow Golden Agers; but her greatest joy in life was her family. Mildred was the beloved wife of 71 years to the late John “Vern” Monette, who predeceased her in 2007; a loving mother to John E. Monette of Toms River, NJ, Rosemarie Duncan of Oakton, VA, and the late Nancy Bean and Robert Monette; a dear sister to Edward Mikula, of CA, and the late Annette Rebelo and Viola Sierakowski; a cherished grandmother of 10 and great-grandmother of 8. Funeral services are on Saturday morning, Nov. 8, 2007 at 9am from the Ludlow Funeral Home with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am in St. John the Baptist Church with Monsignor Homer Gosselin presiding, followed by burial in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Visiting hours are on Friday evening from 5-8pm.
